From 2001 through 2008 I have provided funding for developers, builders and investors. I also owned a small real estate company which provided sales and marketing for some of the same. I initially had my house for sale as a vacant house. I had done extensive renovations that I was proud of and anxious to show them off, but instead of praise the buyer's comments were things like "the rooms are too small", "we need more space", etc. After Kathy staged the house the comments changed from "it's too small" to "it's so cute" and "oh, I love the kitchen". I was referred to clients whose home had been listed for two years with another real estate agent without any luck. They had relocated to Houston and had been making two mortgage payments the whole time--ouch! The house was vacant and had been updated in some areas, but not others, and it didn't show well. She not only came up with a complete staging plan but also helped advise us on paint color selection, lighting and other items that needed updating.
